All rides go to the beach. We will go into the water as long as the weather permits. 99,9% of rides go into the water. No one is required to go into the water.

I HAVE NEVER RIDDEN BEFORE, WILL I BE OK?

Absolutely! We take people who have never ridden horses all the time. Our well trained, calm horses and experienced staff will ensure your safety (and fun!)

WHAT ARE YOUR WEIGHT LIMITATIONS?

We only have 1 horse that can carry up to 230 pounds, 2 who can carry 180-200 pounds, 1 who can carry 150-180 pounds, the rest can carry up to 130-140 pounds, but we have a few who have strict weight limits of 100 pounds. So please be honest about your weights when booking. 10 pounds makes a big difference on a horses' back. THANKS!

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

We take anyone age 7 and up. There is no age maximum, if you can get on with our assistance, you can ride. If you book a Private Ride, 60 minute ride is recommended for small children, anyone with disabilities, or hip, knee or back problems. Please consult with your doctor if you have any doubts about your physical situation.Any child under 12 years of age must have an adult with them on the ride.

CAN MY CHILDREN BE LEAD?

Your child’s ability will be assessed once they are up on their pony. Most 7 year old's are capable of riding our gentlest ponies on their own. Should you or your child require a lead there is an additional fee of $100 dollars. On a group ride, only one child may be lead at a time.

I HAVE MY OWN CAR, WHAT TIME CHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive at 9:30am for the morning ride and 3:30pm for the afternoon ride (3pm during winter hours).

WILL I GET TO CANTER?

We only canter at low tide when the footing on the beach is firmer so as to avoid injuries to the horse’s tendons. We always judge the footing once down at the beach. Safety is our number one concern, and if you have never cantered before it is safer to do so in an arena. You can check the tide chart on the home page before booking to see if a morning or afternoon ride is closer to low tide on your preferred date. We only take experienced riders who show control and balance in the saddle cantering on the beach.

I'M A BEGINNER/NOVICE, WHAT WILL I GET TO DO ON THE RIDE?

Most beginner and novice level riders are capable of walking and trotting for brief periods. We allow them to trot on the road to the beach and sometimes on the beach if the horses are calm and the riders have good control. Everyone will get to take their horse into the water, weather permitting.

WILL MY HORSE SWIM?

The shallow waters of Long Bay beach never reach a depth of more than 5 feet. The horses normally choose to keep their feet on the ground, however, more experienced riders can try to take their horse out for a swim if they can find a deep enough section.

WHICH IS HOTTER; THE MORNING OR AFTERNOON RIDE?

The morning ride is warmer on the way back from the beach and the afternoon is warmer on the way to the beach. Both rides will be warm but you and your horse will get the chance to cool off when you ride into the ocean. Please make sure you are well hydrated before your ride.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A HELMET?

Helmets are optional for anyone 18 and over. They are required for children under 18 due to insurance. We provide helmets.

We are 5 -15 minutes from the Grace Bay/Turtle Cove and Leeward area. 30 minutes from areas like Chalk Sound and Sapodilla Bay. From Leeward highway head east, the highway will go from a four-lane to a two-lane. Keep going straight. You’ll see a gas station on your left. Shortly after the gas station turn right onto Long Bay highway. Continue over one-speed bump (if you go over a second one you’ve gone too far) Turn left onto Lignum Vitae. Turn on the first left onto Dolphin lane and our driveway is the first on the left. If you are coming from the Leeward area or Blue Haven you will be taking Leeward highway to the West and turning left onto Long Bay Hills highway.

If we have to cancel due to bad weather there is no charge. We will ride in light rain, but not thunder and heavy showers.
If weather is iffy and we give you the option to cancel before taxi pickup there is no charge.
If we give you the option to cancel and you choose to come anyway, if we then have to cancel the ride because the weather worsens, you will have to pay for the taxi.
